The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) plans to
build a new drilling platform in the Caspian Sea for deep drill-works,
1news.az reports.
The head of the investment directorate of SOCAR, Vagif Aliyev, said
that the platform will be worth $300-400 million. It will be completed
in 3 years. The platform will be used at Shafag, Asiman, Absheron,
Zafar-Mashal, Babek, Shah-Deniz and other structures. It will operate
at a water depth of 1,000 meters and will drill through 10,000 meters.
