Medvedev calls for more active privatization

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has called for more vigorous
privatization. His assistant, Arkady Dvorkin, said that this would
improve the investment climate, Vedomosti reports.

The Ministries of Economic Development, Finance, Energy and
Agriculture will present proposals on increasing shares of VTB,
Rosneft, Rosselkhozbank and Rushydro, which are to be sold.

Director of a department of the Ministry of Economic Development
Alexey Uvarov confirmed the information and notes that shares in the
companies were discussed in October with Prime Minister Vladimir
Putin.

The government approved privatization in autumn 2010. The state share
was lowered to the control minimum. The shares could be fully sold
later.
