Iran expects Caspian to become important world energy center

Director of the Department of European, American and Caspian Sea
Region Affairs of the Iranian Ministry of Oil, Hossein Esmaeili, said
in an interview to the agency IRNA on the 18th International
exhibition "Oil and Gas of the Caspian Sea” in Baku, that in future
the Caspian region will become one of the world's major energy centers
with regard to its oil and gas reserves, IranNews reports.

According to Hossein Esmaeili, the oil and gas reserves of the Caspian
Sea are still intact, but, with time, Caspian oil and gas will have a
major impact on the situation on world markets.

The opening ceremony of the 18th International Exhibition was held in
Baku on 7 June. The closing ceremony of the exhibition will be held
tonight. The exhibition united 285 oil and gas companies from 25
countries.
