Georgian minimum living wage rises by about 30%

The minimum living wage in Georgia reached 166.4 laris, according to
statistics of June 1, 2011, rising by almost 30%, compared with the
previous year, the Georgian National Statistics Service said, Business

The average minimum living wage is 147.4 laris, while for a family of
4 it amounted to 279.1 laris.


The minimum living wage for an individual in Georgia on May 1, 2011,
was 163.2 laris, the average consumer - 144.5 laris, a family of 4 -
273.7 laris.


The minimum living wage for an individual in Georgia on January 1,
2011, was 149.6 laris, the average consumer - 132.5 laris, a family of
4 - 250.9 laris.


The minimum living wage for an individual in Georgia on June 1, 2010,
was 128.9 laris, the average consumer - 114.1 laris, a family of 4 -
216.2 laris.


The inflation level in January-May 2011 was 5.2%.
