Russia accounts for a fifth of Armenian trade turnover in first half of 2011

Russia accounted for 20.7% of Armenian trade turnover in January-May
2011, News Armenia reports.


It is the highest indicator among Armenia’s trade partners. The CIS
states have a 28.2% share of the trade turnover of Armenia, EU states
– 33.1%.


Russian-Armenian trade turnover increased by 14.6% in the first five
months of 2011 compared with the same period in 2010, reaching $425.5
million. Armenian exports to Russia were worth $66 million (13.5% of
total exports), increasing by 38.9% compared to the same period in
2010.


Armenia imported Russian products worth $359.6 million, a surplus of
11.1%. Total imports from Russia to Armenia were worth $282.9%,
(+17.4%).


The total trade turnover of Armenia in January-May increased by 16.4%
compared with the same period in 2010, reaching $2.1 billion. Total
exports reached $487.7 million, imports $1569.9 million.
