40% of EU oil imports come from CIS countries

 

The volume of oil supplies to EU countries from January-March 2011 amounted to 896.13 million barrels, the official website of the European Commission informs. 

 

The largest volume of oil imports in the EU during this period came from Russia and amounted to 277.839 million barrels, representing 31 percent of total oil deliveries to the EU.  

 

Of the total oil supplies to EU countries from January-March 2011 the share of the former Soviet Union was the biggest and amounted to 398.220 million barrels (44.44 percent).
