The Governor of the Rostov Region, Vasily Golubev, attended the
ceremony of the first export shipment of grain after the lifting ofthe embargo, reports portal YuGA.ru.
Golubev said that the region remains one of the leaders in Russia for
production of export grain. The region can provide up to 30% of
Russian grain exports.
"Today there is a need for supplies. The most important thing now is
to stabilize prices. For us, this is a principle question," the
governor said.
Golubev said that the villagers had a hard time in 2010, when the
drought affected more than 100 thousand hectares of crops, however,
the Rostov region was able to collect nearly 7 million tons of grain.
