"Resorts of the North Caucasus" sees no threat in UNESCO resolution

The company "Resorts of the North Caucasus" has commented on the

resolution of UNESCO, Yuga.ru reports.

During the 35th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage serious concerns
were expressed about plans for infrastructure development and possible
construction of a new ski resort on the plateau of Lagonaki within the
"West Caucasus" World Heritage Site.

In particular, the UNESCO Committee insisted that Russia should
immediately cease the development of infrastructure and tourist

facilities within the boundaries of the object's deforestation and to

rehabilitate damaged areas.

The press-service of JSC "Resorts of the North Caucasus" explained
that UNESCO had no objection to the North-tourism cluster, but

required the ensurance of a high level of ecological protection.
