Transport, visited Amirabad Port. He stressed that the country will
increase transit volumes, Iran News reports.
The minister said that Iran will increase transit volumes to 25
million tons within the 5-year plan that ends in 2015.
Iran transported over 9.5 million tons of transit cargo in 2010,
exceeding the quantities by 34%, compared with 2009. About 2.4 million
tons were transported from March 21 to June 21, 2011. The volumes are
expected to reach 12 million tons by March 20, 2012.
Efendi said that they need to improve transport infrastructure.
Current steps will allow 15 million tons of transit cargo to be
transported in a year.
