Azerbaijan has 75% of the South Caucasus economy, Azerbaijani Minister
for Economic Development Shakhin Mustafayev said at the third
conference of Azerbaijani communities, Trend reports.
The country has $40 billion of currency reserves. 60 industrial
facilities were launched in 2010, 80 more are under construction.
The following priorities have been set for further development:
- preservation of macroeconomic stability;
-improvement of diversification of economy;
- boost of industrialization;
- expansion of agriculture;
- improvement of transit, completion of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway,
the International Naval Trading Port and shipyard;
- improvement of communication, information technologies and
innovations, launch of the first Azerbaijani satellite;
- improvement of business and innovations;
- integration in the world economy;
- environmental protection and search for new energy sources;
- development of tourism;
- high social welfare and development of the human capital.
