The economic analysis center "RIA Novosti analyst" published a rating
of 37 states according to their income tax. Armenia occupied 27th
place in Europe, news.am reports.
Both Armenia and Georgia have 20% income tax, while Azerbaijan has 30%.
According to the experts, income tax tends to be higher in the
countries with higher salaries. On the other hand, high income taxes
might be said to encourage professionals to seek employment in
countries where they can avoid paying high taxes.
The lead position in the ranking belongs to socially-oriented Sweden,
where income tax is 56.4%. Next comes Belgium with 53.7% and the
Netherlands with 52%. Last position in the ranking is held by
Bulgaria and Kazakhstan, where income tax is 10%.
