President Medvedev has signed the law on radioactive waste management, RIA Novosti reports, citing the Kremlin press service.
The bill was adopted by the State Duma on June 29th and by the Federation Council on July 6th, 2011. It presupposes changes in several legislative acts of the Russian Federation.
The document establishes a united state system of radioactive waste management. However, it doesn’t concern nuclear fuel waste.
The law guarantees security of state control over radioactive waste management.
