Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov wants to hold a second
privatization initiative, something he calls the "people's IPO", News
Kazakhstan reports.
The prime minister says that banks are not doing very well. Some
sectors were purchased back by the government. New privatization
should resemble the one in the 90s.
The government is developing a special program, the so-called
"people's IPO", aimed at activating citizens in ownership of state
property and resources. It should boost business, Masimov believes.
