The Minister of Economic Development of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina,
visited Dagestan. Together with the president of Dagestan and
governmental officials she visited the construction site of a ski
resort in the Matlas Khunzakh district and the National Library in
Makhachkala. Nabibulilna also held a meeting on the development of a
tourist cluster project in the North Caucasus Federal District. The
meeting was attended by the deputy presidential envoy to the North
Caucasus Federal District Maxim Bystrov, Special Representative of the
President of France for the Development of Franco-Russian relations
Jean-Pierre Thomas, the French Ambassador to Russia Jean de Gliniasti,
president of Dagestan Magomedsalam Magomedov, president of the
Republic of Ingushetia Yunus-bek Yevkurov, Chairman of the Board of
Directors of the "Resorts of the North Caucasus" Ahmed Bilalov and
others.
Opening the meeting, Magomedsalam Magomedov said that Dagestan is
considering tourism and recreation as one of the economic development
priorities. The recently adopted strategy of social and economic
development in Dagestan until 2025 identifies two main areas of
development - transport and the industrial and logistics complex
"CaspianHUB", as well as the cluster "House of Peoples."
The participants in the meeting suggested expanding the tourist
cluster area and incorporating the Zolsky region of the
Kabardino-Balkaria Republic, the Urupskiy region of
Karachay-Cherkessia and the Dzheyrahsky region ofIngushetia.
According to the participants, it will enhance the effect of regional
development, improve the investment attractiveness of the project and
will provide opportunities for further expansion of ski resorts, as
well as a range of other tourist leisure activities.
