Iran increases production for saffron exports

The head of the Association of Exporters of saffron regards the
situation in the production of saffron favourable, and expects its
expansion in 2011. According to him, the safron export will exceed 110
tons this year, Iriba News reports.

According to the head of the association, European producers of
saffron consider Iran their serious competitor and are seeking ways to
impose limitations of Iranian saffron in European markets.
