The Armenian Vice-President, Armen Gevorkyan, and senior officer for
World Bank programs, Joseppe Fantozzi, have discussed additional
financing of irrigation systems in Yerevan. The program will start in
the autumn and end in 18 months, News.am reports.
The WB will issue a loan of $40 million for irrigation. The State
Committee for Water Resources and WB specialists will develop a
program for irrigation which will stress the expansion of the systems
and use of gravity-flowing irrigation.
