UNICEF reports on poverty in Georgia

UNICEF today presented a report on poverty in Georgia, saying the country still suffers from the problem, the Business Georgia news agency reports.

According to Ronald Monash, a UNICEF representative, the problem of poverty still exists in Georgia, even though the government of the country has launched several social security programs, in addition to trying to improve the economic situation in general.

Still not all poor families are provided with governmental support. Only 3 out of 4 poor families receive government assistance, the
UNICEF representative said.
