Swedish company to modernize traffic control system in Yerevan

Armenia plans to reduce the number of road traffic patrols by using
photo and video monitoring devices, Armenian Deputy Police Chief Artur
Osikyan said at a press-conference on July 21.


Sensis Trafik (Sweden) will set up the new equipment.
A contract was signed for 25 years, and 9.8 million euro will be
invested. Swedish specialists will maintain the equipment.


The company will receive 70% of the sum of fines to pay for the
equipment and services. Then they will switch to the 50/50 principle.
Osikyan says that they plan to earn $540,500 in fines annually.
