Armenia plans to reduce the number of road traffic patrols by using
photo and video monitoring devices, Armenian Deputy Police Chief Artur
Osikyan said at a press-conference on July 21.
Sensis Trafik (Sweden) will set up the new equipment.
A contract was signed for 25 years, and 9.8 million euro will be
invested. Swedish specialists will maintain the equipment.
The company will receive 70% of the sum of fines to pay for the
equipment and services. Then they will switch to the 50/50 principle.
Osikyan says that they plan to earn $540,500 in fines annually.
