Middle East's largest gas deal may be signed soon

Iran, Syria and Iraq will sign the first official agreement on the
export and transit of gas in the energy special economic zone "Pars"
(in Asaluye), most likely on July 25, Iran News reports.

The signing og the agreement will be attended by the Acting Iranian
Oil Minister, Iraqi Oil Minister and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral
Resources of Syria.

At the present time Iraqi Oil Minister Abdul Karim Laibi and Minister
of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Syria Sufyan Al-Alao are
conducting active correspondence on their arrival in Asaluye and the
signing the trilateral gas deal.

Negotiations on export and transit of natural gas between Iran, Iraq
and Syria began in 2009.
