Iran and Syria to construct gas pipeline

The Iranian National Gas Company said that Iran and Syria have reached
agreement on construction of a gas pipeline branch for gas exports
from Iran, Armenia Today reports.

A contract will be signed on July 25, head of the Iranian company
Javad Oji said, adding that Syria wants to purchase 20-25 million
cubic meters of gas daily.

The deal is worth $10 billion, the project will need 3-5 years for realization.

Oji said that Iran extracts 600 million cubic meters of gas daily. The
country exports 37 million of them daily. Launch of the South Pars
project will increase extraction to 1.2 billion cubic meters daily and
exports to 250 million. Estimates say that South Pars has enough
