The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic 9SOCAr) has
purchased BP's share of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field in the
Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea for $585 million, the BP reports
for Q2 2011 says, Trend reports.
SOCAR - AzACG Limited Company purchased a share of 1.6461%, increasing
it to 11.6461%, that had been bought by Devon earlier.
The contract on development of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli was signed in
1994. Devon sold a share of 5.63% to BP (3.29%), Chevron (0.99%),
Inpex (0.96%) and Itocu (0.38%).
The shareholders of the project are ВР (operator) - 35.83%, Chevron -
11.27%, Inpex - 10.96%, AzACG - 11.6%, Statoil - 8.56%, Exxon - 8%,
ТРАО - 6.75%, Itocu - 4.3% and Hess - 2.72%.
40.6 million tons of oil were extracted at the oil field in 2010,
compared with over 40.3 million tons in 2009. The field produced about
823,100 barrels of oil daily in 2010.
