Iran wants to export gas to Iraq

Director General of the Iranian National Gas Company Javad Ouji had a
meeting with Iraqi Petroleum Minister Abdul Karim Luaubi. They
discussed the need for further cooperation and said that Iran will
provide gas for Iraqi power plants, Iran News reports.


Ouji noted that Iran has major gas reserves. Construction of the gas
pipeline to the border of Iraq will allow first gas supplies for the
power plants to be sent.


Gas from the 6th transnational gas pipeline will go through the Ilam
Province of Iran. The pipeline will transport 25 million cubic meters
daily. Conclusion of a contract is being negotiated.
