On Thursday Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad opened the country's highest roller-compact concrete dam in the southern province of Khuzestan, Press TV reports.
The new dam measures 182 meters in height and creates a resevoir with an area of 90 square kilometers, and will supply Khuzestan with 4.5 billion cubic meters of water.
The project also includes a plant that will generate a major part of Iran's hydroelectricity.
