Adygea to become special economic zone

Adygea will become a special economic zone to help develop tourism in the region. The Russian government, the cabinet of Adygea and administration of municipality Maikopsky district have agreed to develop a long-term plan for the creation of a tourist-recreational special economic zone in Adygea, which will be located in the resort Lagonaki, Itar-Tass reports.

The creation of a special economic zone in Adygea is connected with a bill adopted by the Russian government  in 2010 "On the establishment of the tourism cluster in the North Caucasus Federal District, Krasnodar region and Adygea Republic" under the management of "Resorts of the North Caucasus." This bill has launched a large-scale project to build five new world-class resorts in the named areas.
