The Georgian border police have detained the Turkish dry cargo vessel
BARKO for polluting the sea at the 8th dock of the port of Batumi.
A criminal case was initiated against Captain Taskin Erchan of Turkey.
He was fined 65,000 lari ($1 = 1.66 lari). The vessel is currently at
the docks and will be released after payment of the fine.
