China increases imports of Iranian oil

Despite Western efforts to reduce trade volume between Iran and China,
Beijing has increased imports of Iranian oil, as proven by recent
statistics, IRNA reports referring to the Chinese oil company
"Sinopec".

In 2011, the Sinopec company  imports daily from Iran up to 90,000
barrels of light oil, which is approximately 40% more than compared
with the same period last year.

According to Chinese customs administration, the exchange of oil and
petroleum products between China and Iran has grown significantly
during the first six months, and China imports from Iran a total of
more than 540,000 barrels of crude oil and petroleum products per day.
