The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) is expecting
proposals on gas supplies from Shah Deniz to Europe, Trend reports.
This concerns such gas pipelines as IGI Poseidon, Trans-Adriatic
Pipeline (TAP) and Nabucco.
Proposals will be received until October 1.
The three projects are part of the Southern Gas Corridor, a priority
energy project of the EU. It is to diversify routes and sources of
energy.
Shah Deniz will have an extraction cap of 9 billion cubic meters
annually in the first stage. Extraction will reach 16 billion cubic
meters in 2017, 10 billion of them will be exported to Europe. Shah
Deniz holds about 1.2 trillion cubic meters of gas.
A contract on development of the Shah Deniz field was signed on June
4, 1996. Its shareholders are BP (operator) - 25.5%, Statoil - 25.5%,
NICO - 10%, Total - 10%, Lukoil - 10%, TPAO - 9%, SOCAR - 10%.
