The North Caucasus may build its own "Silicon Valley" worth 32 billion
rubles to study alternate energy sources, Gazeta.ru reports.
The center leads the list of debtors. It was presented at the council
of representative of the Stavropol Territory and republics of the
North Caucasian Federal District. The project was initiated by North
Ossetia-Alania.
The project will involve Stavropol Territory, Kabardino-Balkaria,
Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia-Alania and Dagestan.
The center will produce products worth 39 billion rubles annually. It
will pay off in about 2-7 years. It covers 49 hectares.
Ingush spokesman Vakha Yevloyev said that the project will be based on
state and private financing. The government will finance construction
basing on the program for development of monocities. Nevinnomyssk and
Stavropol Territory expect state financing.
The project will be discussed with Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy
to the North Caucasian Federal District Alexander Khloponin in late
August. An agreement is expected to be signed at the 10th
International Investment Forum in Sochi in mid-September.
