Turkey plans to spend $5 million to advertise resorts in Russia. The
Ministry for Culture and Tourism has announced a tender worth $45
million abroad.
The advertising campaign will start in 2012 to improve image of the
Turkish tourism sphere in the "sea-sand-sun" format. Tourist will be
attracted with high-quality service and various types of recreation.
The ministry wants tourism season to reach 12 months a year.
Turkey is the main tourism site for Russia. Over 3.1 million Russians
visited it in 2010. About 1.5 million Russian tourists have visited it
this year. Germany is the main visitor of Turkey. About 4.4 million
Germans visited Turkey in 2010 and 1.9 million this year. Turkey will
spend $7.5 million on advertising in Germany.
The third position belongs to UK. 2.6 million English tourists visited
Turkey in 2010.
Turkey will spend $4.5 million on advertising in UK and $4 million in the USA.
