The globalization of the economic development of Caspian states
requires ecological monitoring of the sea, PhD for Biology Bibi
Polatova said, Trend reports.

Ashkhabad plans to develop constructive cooperation to preserve the
Caspian Sea. The initiatives will announced at the 66th session of the
UN General Assembly on September 13.

The article on the Caspian Sea says that there is little information
on the pollution levels in the sea. This requires ecological
monitoring and prevention of pollution.

The Turkmen sector is considered least polluted. It is realizing
ecological projects at oil facilities of Turkmenbasha.

The Caspian Sea is an inter-continental water body with no links with
the ocean. It is unique for its flora and fauna. It holds 90% of the
world's sturgeons. It is also peculiar for large reserves of
resources. Scientists believe that it has very sensitive environment.

The local environment has been polluted in the last decade. The main
causes are hydro carbon facilities, high population and industry
concentration, agriculture and enclosure of the sea.
