Iran is planning to hold an exhibition, showcasing handicrafts from the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states in the North Khorasan Province, Press TV reports.
The event will host craftsmen and artists from about 10 countries as well as Iraq and Georgia in the Iranian city of Bojnourd, Mehr News Agency reported.
Works created by 33 craftsmen from Pakistan, Turkey, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Tajikistan, have been submitted to the exhibition so far.
Participating artists will present various art forms such as sculpture, pottery, painting, calligraphy and jewelry design.
Workshops and meetings will also be held on the sidelines of the event to provide an opportunity for the participating countries to exchange their experiences and latest achievements, and boost their cultural cooperation.
The exhibition will be held from September 11 to 17, 2011 and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is set to attend the opening ceremony along with ambassadors of Eco member states in Iran.
