Villages of Baku on the Absheron peninsula will be connected with a
new highway. It will be 42.5 km long. A road running through the
villages of Bilgya, Nardaran, Kurdakhany and Pirshagi is being
constructed.
The head of the Azeroilservice press-service of the Azerbaijani
Transport Ministry, Pyunkhan Mursalov, said that work has been
organized on the 14th km mark of the road. Owners of housing were paid
compensation.
A tunnel will be put in operation by the end of 2011. It will be over
60 meters long and 23.5 meters wide.
14 km of road will be completed by 2012. The new road will give
access to the Baku-Shamakhy and Baku-Russia highways.
