Azerbaijan and EU discuss joint midair deal

Azerbaijan and the European Union are discussing a joint midair deal.
Azerbaijan expressed interest in the deal in January 2011, Trend
reports.

The deal will allow Azerbaijan to enter the market with common rules
of traffic, social services and ecology. Passenger flows between the
EU and Azerbaijan may be of interest due to regular visits of oil and
gas business.

Azerbaijan has air deals with 21 EU states, including Austria,
Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France,
Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands,
Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and the UK. The EU noted that
the demand for flights to Azerbaijan exceeds fulfillment. Improved
competition may reduce ticket prices.

National Air Company of Azerbaijan (AZAL) operates with US consultants
to normalize the standard base and fulfill demands.

AZAL will receive Boeing-787 Dreamliners in 2014 AZAL opened new
