Iran to renew civilian air fleet

A member of the committee for development under the parliament of Iran, Mehrdad Lahuti, said that Iran plans to renew its civilian air fleet and spend $5 billion on it, Iran News reports.

$4 billion is needed for the purchase of airplanes and $1 billion for purchasing navigation equipment.

At the moment the average age of the airliners used by Iranian airlines is 22.5 years, which should decreased to 15 years.
