Two years of studies have revealed oil supplies in Turkey's Kazdagy
Province, CNN Turk reports.
Turkey lacks its own oil reserves and imports oil. It plays an
important role in the transit of oil from Russia, the Caspian Sea and
the Middle East to Europe.
The Oil and Gas Journal (OGJ) said that Turkey had about 300 million
barrels of oil reserves, according to January 1, 2009. They are mainly
in the south-eastern areas.
