Economic forum in Poland discusses EU energy policy

The economic forum held in the Polish town of Krynica-Zdrój discusses EU partnership with Eastern European countries. The editor-in-chief of the Vestnik Kavkaza news agency, Alexey Vlasov, took part in the event.

The forum was organized by the Warsaw Eastern Studies Institute in order to discuss EU economic ties with Russia and ecological background of such partnership.

The opening ceremony was attended by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili. Both official underlined European Union common values and unity.

The president of Georgia also noted that Poland plays an important role in the region as a rapidly developing country. He even said that Poland provided Georgia with a role model.

In the framework of the forum, experts will discuss various issues including EU cooperation with South Caucasian states.
