Over 7,000 people have arrived for the 10th International Investment Forum “Sochi-2011” that opens on September 15. About 60 Russian regions have filed bids for the forum, exceeding the number in 2010 by 7. Almost all delegations are supervised by governors or republic heads, ITAR-TASS reports.
Over 550 foreign businessmen and diplomats from 18 states, 18 ambassadors from Austria, Italy, France,Canada and other states, ministers of economy will arrive for the forum.
Such Russian regions as Yakutia and Kamchatka are attending the forum for the first time, member of the organizing committee, Chairman of the Trade and Industry Chamber of the Krasnodar Territory, Yuri Tkachenko, said.
He noted that the committee did not limit terms for registration. Bids can be filed at any time of the forum. Registration can be carried out at airports and railway stations.
The forum has exhibition halls covering 15,000 square meters. About a hundred Sochi hotels expect visitors. Some 600 volunteer students helped the organization committee.
The main events of the forum are planned for September 16.
