Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with France to develop industry and alternate energy , French Minister of Industry, Energy and the Digital economy Eric Besson said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Minister for Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev in Paris on Thursday, Trend cites Azerbaijani Ambassador to France Elchin Amirbekov.
The sides discussed cooperation in the petroleum sphere and its prospects. The French minister rated the positive role of Azerbaijan in Europe’s energy security and expressed readiness to share experience.
Natig Aliyev noted that opening of Total and Gas de France together with the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) at the Absheron field is a major success.
The field holds 350 billion cubic meters of gas and 45 million tons of condensate.
The Azerbaijani minister invited his French counterpart to visit Baku.
The Azerbaijani Ministry for Industry and Energy has the Agency for Alternate and Renewable Energy Sources. A million manats was granted for research. 40 million more manats were provided for realization of pilot projects.
