Iran bans fruit imports

The Iranian authorities have banned imports of 55 kinds of fruits and vegetables, Iran News reports.

The measure is part of the Islamic Republic's domestic production development strategy. The country's agriculture minister Sadek Khaliliyan underlined that the decision was made in order to support local producers.
