Head of Ingushetia proposes major investment attraction drive

The head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, said that the government should enforce the attraction of investments in the regions at the Sochi-2011 forum, Interfax reports.

Yevkurov explained that Ingushetia is much less attractive to investors than, for example, Stavropol Territory, and in order to attract financing of large companies to Ingushetia, the region requires governmental support.

Yevkurov’s proposal was supported by the Governor of Astrakhan Region, Alexander Zhilkin, who noted that businesses will invest in the regional economy only in partnership with the government.
