Greece is lobbying Southern Corridor

The Nabucco pipeline project which is meant to reduce the EU dependence on Russian gas, is a long term project while the Greek plan providing a gradual increase in supply is more realistic, said the head of the Greek gas company DEPA in an interview with Harry Sachinis, Reuters reports.

“Nabucco will be implemented one day, but not today. I think that Nabucco is a great project,” - said Sachinis.

"The volume of gas needed to fill Nabucco is currently not available" – Sachinis said.
