Dagestan reveals violations at brick factories

Dagestan has registered numerous violations at brick factories, RIA Novosti reports.


Media reported about a serviceman, Andrey Popov, who had been used as a slave at a brick factory for 11 years, his sister claimed. Popov has not commented on the issue.


The prosecutors of Makhachkala initiated 95 administrative cases for violations of labour laws, sanitary conditions, fire security and ecology. 181 workers were questioned, but none of them admitted forced labour.


The prosecution of Kaspiysk found over 500 labour, migration, land, administrative, tax, sanitary and fire security violations in 2009-2010. 171 administrative cases were initiated, 107 lawsuits were filed for wage payments. 8 people are on the wanted list, three of them are hiding, 5 are missing.


Similar violations were found in the Kirovsky and Karabudakhkentsky Districts.


The director of Stroyservice, Magomed Rajabov, filed a lawsuit against Andrey Popov for giving false information against him.
