The Russian State Duma has not supported a proposed ban on package holidays to Turkey, RIA Novosti reports.
The Liberal Democratic Party of Russia proposed banning package holidays to Turkey over a number of cases of deaths of Russian tourists in Turkey at the end of June. The LDPR also proposed to develop and publish an official list of foreign countries, indicating the degree of their potential danger to Russian tourists.
Victor Zvagelsky, a member of the Duma Committee on Business and Economic Policy voted for rejecting the document and stated that the Russian law provides a mechanism for informing the Russian tourists abroad about the potential dangers they might subjected in countries of their destination.
