Turkmenistan has approved gas supplies for the Nabucco pipeline, CEO of OMV (Austria) Herhardt Royce said, Sabakh reports.
Royce reached an agreement with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Nabucco is the primary European pipeline project of the Southern Corridor. It will be 3300 km long and will connect the Caspian region, Middle East and Egypt with the consumer markets of Turkey and Europe. It will contribute to gas supplies for Turkey, South-Eastern, Central and Western Europe. The pipeline will run from Turkey to Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary to Baumgarten in Austria.
Construction of Nabucco is to start in 2013, he first gas supplies are expected in 2017.
