Development of ACG platforms in Azerbaijan halted

BP, operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields in Azerbaijan, plans maintenance work on three platforms in the Caspian Sea, Trend reports.


Extraction on Eastern Azeri, Western Azeri and Central Azeri will be halted for maintenance. But they will not be shut down at the same time.


Renovation activities started over a year ago. The platforms will be closed for 11-15 days. Maintenance will start on October 20.


Extraction at other platforms operated by BP – Chirag, Guneshli and Shah-Deniz, the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline and the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline will operate in normal regime, as well as the Sangachal Terminal.


The ACG field has the following shareholders: ВР (operator) – 35.78%, Chevron – 11.27%, Inpex – 10.96%, AzACG – 11.65%, Statoil – 8.56%, Exxon – 8%, ТРАО – 6.75%, Itocu – 4.3 % and Hess – 2.72%.
