Russia is ready to purchase any volumes of gas Azerbaijan that can export, Russian commercial spokesman in Azerbaijan Yuri Shedrin said in Baku on Wednesday, Trend reports.
He said that both sides are satisfied with prices.
Azerbaijan will have provided Russia with two billion cubic meters of gas by the end of this year. It has already transported 1.3 billion cubic meters.
All Azerbaijani future gas supplies are to reach the European market after 2016. The gas pipeline connecting Russia and Azerbaijan may transport up to 5 billion cubic meters.
A contract for sales and purchase of Azerbaijani gas was signed by SOCAR and Gazprom in Baku on October 14, 2009. A contract signed in Baku in September 2010 gives Gazprom 2 billion cubic meters of gas in 2011 and over 2 billion cubic meters in 2012.
