SOCAR to build new oil platform

SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) is building a new platform that will
be installed in the shallow section of the offshore field "Guneshli", according
to a statement issued today by SOCAR.

The new platform will be designed for 12 wells and will be located at a
depth of 140-150 meters.

The shallow section of the "Guneshli" field is being developed by SOCAR at its
own expense, while its deep  section is being developed together with a consortium of foreign
companies.
