Talks with Botas will be concluded in the near future and a transit deal on supplies of Azerbaijani gas to Europe will be signed, SOCAR head Rovnag Abdullayev said at the 6th Eurasian Forum KAZENERGY in Astana, News Azerbaijan reports.
This allows partners to determine the plan for investments and activities of the Shah Deniz oil and gas field. The second stage of this project includes transport of 10 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe annually.
SOCAR is holding negotiations on six projects for gas transport to Europe. Besides Nabucco, there are proposals on the ITGI gas pipeline (Interconnector Turkey-Greece-Italy) and the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), the White Stream (GUEU), and the supply of gas via ships through the Black Sea to Bulgaria and Romania.
