World Bank to give loans to Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan

The World Bank's Council of directors has approved the extension of
loans to Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan for the implementation of projects
aimed at overcoming the global financial crisis and the development of
infrastructure. The total amount of allotted loans is estimated at $
1.17 billion, reports ITAR-TASS.
The official statement of the World Bank says that the 25-year loan to
Kazakhstan proves the "high level of credibility in Kazakh political
and economic reforms". The funds will be spent on budget deficiency
payments, support economic growth and the fulfillment of social
obligations provided by the state's budget.
As for Azerbaijan, the financial support of the World Bank will
provide the implementation of road network development projects. The
loan will be for 17 years.
The World Bank has also announced its readiness to allot $2 million
for the implementation of reforms in the sphere of education in
Tajikistan.
