The Director-General of the National Iranian Oil Company (INOC), Kalebani Ahmed, said that the "South Pars" natural gas field is considered the center for gas production in the country and the main producer of export gas for world markets, IranNews reports. By the end of the five-year program of development (2011-2015), Iran expects to increase the gas production in this field up to 775 million cubic meters per day, IRNA reports.
The head of INOC stressed that one of the priorities is gas injection into oil wells in order to increase the recoverability rate of oil. Therefore Iran plans to inject 200 million cubic meters of gas into oil wells. The gas will be produced at the "South Pars" field.
